The Last Dance
My artwork are Abstract Realism of the Postmodern landscapes. What I enjoy about painting is the union of mixed media and the unraveling of images in the crisscrossing colors. Although the images are reflected between the implied lines and in the shared values of colors with organic shapes, absurd and sometimes ambiguous reality stands out disproportionally and out of scale. Mountains are birds as birds are clouds, and fishes are out of place in the skies and small puddles of water.
My art expresses landscapes as tapestries suggesting complex interconnections and transparencies between flora and fauna stimulating multiple readings between the lines. Nature’s mystique is the ephemeral and dissonant harmonies loosened by definitive, directive, dynamic, and decorative aspects of lines.
Here, the primary illusion of the scene is virtual space. But when the primary illusion of dance which is gesture becomes reflected in the scene and is made secondary to the virtual space my art changed. Now, I have created a virtual dance of nature. The nature of the contemporary landscape is a vital force in many ways inherently pushing and changing internally in all directions yet with adherence to its equilibrium.
The hybridization in my art is a credit to the sacred and the profane. Whether transfiguration, transformation, transmutation, or metamorphosis, either one is all the same to me.
